Registration and housing are open for the 82nd Scientific Sessions, June 3-7, 2022, at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center in New Orleans, LA. All sessions will be presented live and in person in New Orleans.

“We are thrilled to be back in person after two years of meeting virtually, and I encourage everyone to make plans now to join us in New Orleans for the premier meeting in diabetes,” said Marlon Pragnell, PhD, ADA Vice President of Research and Science. “The Scientific Sessions Meeting Planning Committee has put together an exciting and diverse program that covers the spectrum of diabetes care and treatment.”

This year’s educational program features more than 180 sessions highlighting the latest innovations in diabetes research, prevention, and care. The 82nd Scientific Sessions Advance Program is now available, with additional program information available on the Scientific Sessions website. Some recent additions to the program include:

  • Future of Diabetes—The Next Frontier with Dual Incretin
  • NIDDK Early Career Investigator Symposium: Novel Diabetes Prevention and Treatment Approaches in Underserved Populations
  • Type 1 Diabetes Intervention Trials: TrialNet Abatacept Prevention Trial & Low-dose IL-2 in Recently Diagnosed Type 1 Diabetes

In addition to the world-class science being presented, Dr. Pragnell said the return to an in-person meeting means that attendees can once again experience the professional growth that is the hallmark of the in-person Scientific Sessions.

“While the virtual meetings were a great success, some of the best parts of attending the Scientific Sessions are the opportunities to connect with colleagues, to engage in lively debate, and to initiate meaningful collaborations,” he said. “It’s the serendipitous hallway conversations, the chance meetings in between sessions, and the many official networking events that fuel the discovery process and accelerate our progress toward helping people better manage, cure, and prevent diabetes.”

For those unable to travel, the 82nd Scientific Sessions also will be available virtually, featuring four concurrent livestreams of featured presentations. The rest of the program will be available on demand after being presented in New Orleans to allow as many people as possible to participate.

Registration should be completed via the ADA’s secure online registration portal, which features special pricing for three categories of attendees: ADA members, non-members, and students/residents/fellows. Advance Registration rates are available until April 21.
