What is your presentation about?
This presentation will describe the progress that has been made recently in the generation of insulin-secreting islets from human pluripotent stem cells. Control of both soluble and insoluble cues has enabled improved generation of islets across multiple stem cell lines. These cells have utility as a self-renewal source for diabetes cell replacement therapy and modeling disease in the dish.

What makes this topic important in 2021?
Cellular therapy for diabetes using lab-grown islets from stem cells has the potential to revolutionize how the field manages diabetes for many patients. This is a fast moving field, with significant progress made every year.

Which subset of attendees shouldn’t miss this presentation?
Those interested in cellular therapy, stem cells, and organoids shouldn’t miss this presentation.
