Meet the Speaker: Lydia Finley, PhD – Metabolic Regulation of Cell Fate Decisions

Session Chair Matthew Hirschey, PhD, interviews Lydia Finley, PhD, one of the speakers planned for the symposium Effect of Metabolic Stress on Insulin Action on Sunday morning, June 14. The symposium begins at 8 a.m. CT, and Dr. Finley’s presentation, “Metabolic Regulation of Cell Fate Decisions,” begins at 9:20 a.m. CT. Dr. Finley, whose lab is at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, has a passion for understanding how metabolic networks coordinate the basic needs of a cell. In her interview, she talks about how her scientific career focused on metabolism can be traced back to her post-workout experiences as a track athlete, “why” questions that interest her, the relationship between the metabolic profile of a cell and cell identity, and more.
