You might have heard that a new DSMES (Diabetes Self-Management Education and Support) Consensus Report is being published this year; yes, it is now available in Diabetes Care. As an effort to disseminate information on this new DSMES Consensus Report, the DSMES Interest Group’s presentation this year specifically focuses on this new resource. We are so glad and honored to have the co-chairs for this Consensus Report, Maggie Powers, PhD, RD, CDCES, and Joan K. Bardsley, MBA, BSN, CDCES, FAADE, to lead the discussion. This presentation highlights the 2020 DSMES Consensus Report—Role of DSMES in Today’s Health Care Environment, and the Call to Action—Recommendations and the Four Critical Times.
