What is your presentation about?
In my presentation, I will introduce ferroptosis (a form of iron-dependent cell death triggered by lipid peroxidation), present our research on mitochondrial redox control in ferroptosis, and its relevance to human diseases.
What makes this topic important in 2022?
Dysregulation of ferroptosis has been linked to diverse human diseases, and ferroptosis inhibitors or inducers have great potential in treating diseases.
How did you become involved with this area of diabetes research or care?
I am a cancer researcher. However, my research in ferroptosis and redox biology might also have important implications in studying and treating other diseases such as diabetes.
What are you most looking forward to at the 82nd Scientific Sessions?
I am most looking forward to interacting with researchers from very different disciplines at the 82nd Scientific Sessions.
