What is your presentation about?
Discussing the pros and cons of providing psychosocial and behavioral health care in diabetes using a telehealth platform.

What makes this topic important in 2023?
Prior to the pandemic, the push for health care to be delivered via telehealth was on the upswing. However, the pandemic forced health care providers to use telehealth given the concerns about the transmission of COVID.

How did you become involved with this area of diabetes research or care?
As a health care provider I was one of many who provided health care using telehealth due to the pandemic. In addition, I previously studied the differential effectiveness of telehealth delivered psychosocial care to in clinic psychosocial care to teens and their families.

How do you think your presentation will impact diabetes research or care?
Hopefully, scientists and clinicians alike will start to identify who is best suited to receive psychosocial diabetes care via telehealth and who benefits more from in-person care.

What are you most looking forward to at the 83rd Scientific Sessions?
I always enjoy reconnecting with colleagues and sharing our respective work in diabetes.
