What is your presentation about?
I will review the rapid transition to telemedicine we have experienced over the last 15 months and review early lessons from this new era of digital health. I will also help make sense of the current state of telemedicine reimbursement, and highlight the existing health disparities that are exacerbated by telehealth. Finally, I will discuss concrete steps we can take to help advocate for state and federal policy to promote telehealth equity.

What makes this topic important in 2021?
We have entered a new era of digital health transformation, and there have been many early lessons we have learned. Understanding telehealth reimbursement and advocating for policy that supports our patients and promotes equity is essential to the success of our clinical practice as health care providers and care teams.

Which subset of attendees shouldn’t miss this presentation?
All health care providers, care team members, and ambulatory leaders who currently use or plan to use digital health and telemedicine in their practice to help care for their patients.
